Jessica Lloyd-Jones is a visual artist exploring the interaction of materials and light through sculpture and installation.

Inspired by natural phenomena, she uses a variety of sustainable materials and processes incorporating illumination, colour and optical effects to create dynamic and engaging sensory experiences.

Jessica collaborates with architects, design teams and specialist fabricators to realise highly creative site-specific artworks in the public realm.

Biography

Based in North Wales, Jessica Lloyd-Jones (b.1983) holds a First Class Honours degree in Fine Art and MFA in Sculpture from Edinburgh College of Art (2007). She has produced public artworks for organisations including Adelaide Festival, Canary Wharf, The Royal Astronomical Society, Plas Heli Welsh National Sailing Academy, Conwy Castle, Pontio Arts and Innovation Centre, Göteborg Energi (Sweden) and Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Jessica’s work has been showcased in international exhibitions including; World Crafts Council Second European Triennial of Ceramic and Glass (Belgium), SOFA (New York), Fraser Gallery (Maryland), Museo di Palazzo Poggi (Bologna), Musee de la Main, (Lausanne) and Casoria Contemporary Art Museum (Naples). Her work has also been included in UK exhibitions with Grizedale Forest, NOVA Biennial Welsh Art Prize, Mostyn Open 20, Aberystwyth Arts Centre, UK Young Artists, British Glass Biennale, the National Eisteddfod of Wales, Summerhall (Edinburgh) and Royal West Academy of England. 

Awards have included an International Visiting Artist Fellowship at Urban Glass (New York), Royal Society of Sculptors Bursary Award (London), Glass Art Society Emerging Artist Award (Kentucky) and Arts Council of Wales Creative Wales Award. She has undertaken residencies at Ruthin Craft Centre, PDR National Centre for Product Design and Research (Cardiff), Leitrim Sculpture Centre (Ireland), the National Institute of Agriculture and Botany (Cambridge) and the University of Leeds Biological Science department.
